Palliative Care

Palliative Care is the active, compassionate care of the terminally ill at a time when their disease is no longer responsive to traditional treatment and when the control of symptoms – physical, emotional and spiritual – is paramount.

The palliative care program is resident centered. Resident, family and friends are involved in the treatment planning with the palliative care team so they can make choices based on knowledge and understanding.

Palliative Care Services will be delivered within professionally accepted standards of conduct and practice. We have a number of trained palliative care volunteers who are able to assist during this time.

The palliative care program remains committed to the ongoing education for staff, residents, families and volunteers.
