Guests & Visiting Sherwood Park Manor
Visiting hours take place from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. If a resident is in failing health, there are no restrictions on visiting hours. If a resident returns to the Manor after 9:00 p.m., family members are encouraged to assist the resident to their room. We do not make an announcement advising that visiting hours are over, we simply encourage family and friends to refrain from entering the building after 9:00 p.m. We respectfully request your assistance in adhering to these visiting hours.
Handwashing is the single best defense against the spread of infection. Please be diligent in using hand sanitizer as you enter and leave the home after signing in and out. We also request that you refrain from visiting for five days after any respiratory symptoms commence and for seventy-two hours after any gastrointestinal infection. Our residents and staff will benefit from your attention to this important infection control precaution. If we all work together we can minimize the risk to our residents.
Many staff and residents have sensitivities to fragrances. We kindly ask that visitors, staff, volunteers and guests refrain from wearing scented products in the Manor. Your cooperation with this request is greatly appreciated. Staff at Sherwood Park Manor wants to assist each new resident with the transition to their new home.

Gift Suggestions
Choosing a gift for a friend or relative at the Manor is a wonderful way to show you care. To help you select something safe, practical, and meaningful, we have compiled the following suggestions.
Clothing & Jewelry
-
Comfortable Clothing: "Jogging" suits, tracksuits, or matching loungewear sets are excellent choices.
-
Durability is Key: Please choose washable fabrics (like polyester blends) that can withstand repeated hot-water washing.
-
Footwear: Non-slip slippers are essential for safety.
-
Accessories: Costume jewelry, such as necklaces with long chains that slip easily over the head, are best. (Men often appreciate monogrammed belt buckles.)
Please Note: We recommend leaving valuable jewelry and heirlooms at home to prevent loss.
Personal Comfort & Room Decor
-
Sentimental Items: Greeting cards with personal messages or artwork created by grandchildren are always cherished and welcome.
-
Room Personalization: Items that make a room feel like home are encouraged. This includes framed photos, large-print calendars, bulletin boards, clocks, or a favorite coffee mug.
-
Electronics: Radios or TVs are welcome.
-
Linens: A washable bed comforter, lap blanket, or throw.
Toiletries
-
Please select unscented toiletries to respect allergies and sensitivities.
Note: Please do not bring talcum powders.
Important Safety & Storage Guidelines
-
Please clearly identify all gifts (especially clothing) with a laundry marker or name tag before bringing them to the Manor.
-
Please avoid perishable items like fancy cookies or cheeses, as they are difficult to store. If you do bring treats, they must be stored in sealed tins.
-
If you are considering larger items such as specialized chairs (geriatric/tilt) or pressure-sensitive mattresses, please consult our nursing staff first to ensure they meet the resident's care plan.
