Respiratory Outbreak – Unknown Pathogen
Sherwood Park Manor is currently in a respiratory outbreak of an unknown pathogen.
Currently the West & East Wings are being closed off to the rest of the building. Visitors are still allowed and encouraged, but may be asked to adhere to PPE and hand hygiene while in the facility, particularly on those units.
Ill visitors shall not be permitted in the home.
Well visitors who choose to visit during an outbreak will be asked to:
- Perform hand hygiene when entering the facility, before entering and upon leaving the resident’s room;
- Visit residents only in their rooms and avoid communal areas;
- If possible, visit only one resident and leave the facility immediately after the visit; if multiple residents are in the home but in different locations, it is recommended that the healthy resident(non-outbreak case) be visited first, and
- Not mingle with other residents.
