Residents & Family Council

Residents’ Council:

Residents’ Council meets on the last Monday of the month at 2:00 p.m.  all residents are encouraged to attend.  Family members, staff, and community members can attend these meetings by invitation, but voting is restricted to the residents.  The meetings address issues like housekeeping, menu suggestions, rules, regulations and any other matters of general concern to residents.  During this past year, guest speakers have been invited to speak to council on a variety of different topics. All proceedings are recorded and the minutes are circulated to the Chair of the Board, the Administrator, and all the members of Residents’ Council.

Family Council:

Family Council is comprised of relatives and friends of residents and meets on a monthly basis; generally the last Friday of the month.  It provides a place where family and friends can raise systemic issues that are impacting on the residents and the facility.   Family Council also works with the Manor Staff on issues and concerns that involve all residents, such as transportation needs, facility needs, and other issues as they arise.  Communication is the key to good care and happy residents; the Family Council exists to provide and improve on this wherever possible.
